Why this matters

When an AI produces the answer, you see the answer, and it feels like understanding. A day later you usually can't explain it. Learning sticks when you do the retrieving, explaining and correcting yourself. Good AI help makes you do more of that, not less.

Want a tutor that works this way by default? Ask Poppy is an AI tutor you talk or type to. It asks questions and gives one hint at a time instead of handing you the answer, and it remembers where you left off so you can pick it up again tomorrow.

Questions

How can I tell if AI is doing my homework for me?

Look at the request. Asking it to write, solve, or 'just give the answer' hands over the thinking. Asking it to explain, quiz you, give one hint, or find the mistake in your own attempt keeps the thinking yours.

What is a good prompt for learning with ChatGPT or Gemini?

Tell it what you're working on, ask it not to give the answer, ask it to find out what you already know, to give one hint at a time, and to have you explain your reasoning back. This checker writes that prompt for you.

Does this tool detect AI-written work?

No. It only looks at the words of a request you're about to send and estimates who would do the thinking. It doesn't detect or judge finished work, and nothing you paste is stored or sent anywhere.
